Philadelphia, PA – The Mid-Atlantic - Russia Business Council (MARBC) is pleased to announce the 16th Semi-Annual Biotechnological Russian-American Technology Week (RANIT-BIO). The event will start on June 14-15, 2012 in Philadelphia and conclude on June 18-21, 2012 in Boston. RANIT is the most significant semi-annual event organized by the Mid-Atlantic-Russia Business Council, which is devoted to Russian-American technology and business cooperation. It will bring together entrepreneurs, scientists, venture capitalists, and established corporations within the American and Russian technology industries.

The events of June 14, 2012 will include a Welcoming Ceremony and Opening Sessions (Russian-American Innovation Cooperation and Innovation Development in Russian Region) at 2:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. at Philadelphia City Hall.

The Russian-American Life Sciences Conference will be held on June 15, 2012 at 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. The Conference, co-organized by the Mid-Atlantic - Russia Business Council and Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, has become a key part of the RANIT-BIO Week, with discussions exploring the opportunities to build mutually-supportive partnerships between the U.S. and Russia in the sphere of innovative pharmaceutical development. The conference will consist of in-depth discussions of the investment climate and key policy issues for Russia and the U.S. The conference will highlight increased involvement by key Russian and American policy-makers, including the Health, Business Development, and Innovation Working-Groups of the US-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission. Events with the Russian delegation will include visits and roundtables at the International Incubator in the University City Science Center, and the Greater Philadelphia Innovation Cluster in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.


The 16th RANIT-BIO will conclude with the 2012 BIO International Convention, which is the largest and the most significant biotechnology event in the world, from June 18-21, 2012, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston. The Mid-Atlantic-Russia Business Council, one of the official organizers of the Russian delegation at BIO Convention, will host the Russia Country Session “Models and Frameworks for Biotech Commercialization in Russia” on June 19. (The 2012 BIO International Convention requires separate registration.)
